On Friday 14th March, The Carphone Warehouse set up call centres in two of their support centres, to take donations for Sport Relief.
80 brilliant volunteers, from all different areas of the business, took on the challenge of staffing the phones both in Acton and in Kelvin Close, Warrington. Clementine Walker, who helped to set up the night, said ‘The atmosphere was brilliant – we had large screens on-site, so we could follow Sport Relief on the TV, and every few minutes a volunteer would jump up and shout in celebration of their latest donation.’ Between mouthfuls of pizza and swigs of energy drinks we answered approximately 2500 calls, taking just over £82,000 for Sport Relief! A great time was had by all and we can’t wait to help out again for Red Nose Day in 2009!
