Can he do it?

He's done it!

Double Olympic Gold Medalist, James Cracknell has succeeded in making his way from the UK to Africa powered by his body strength alone!

The challenge involved rowing across the English Channel, during which he capsized, but got straight back in his boat and made it to the other side. He then cycled more than 1,395 miles through France and Spain, suffering severe blisters on his bottom but carrying on despite the pain!

He has now conquered the treacherous Strait of Gibraltar, supported every stroke of the way by Little Britain's David Walliams, who famously swam the English Channel in just ten and a half hours for Sport Relief in 2006.

James stopped to rest for just four hours in every 24 throughout the whole attempt and he put his body through hell to get to Africa against the clock! He will have burned approximately 55,000 calories throughout the trip, secreted up to 10 litres of sweat per day and needed to drink up to 12 litres of water each day to compensate!

There's only one reason why he's put himself through this mammoth challenge and that's to raise cash for Sport Relief!
